Does anyone know how dark/% the tint is on a stock JKU Sahara?

I'm going to estimate 32%~35%. When we matched the rear to the front on a new un tinted hard top, any of the shades between those numbers looked like a good match.

Seems like when I had mine done I wanted 25% on the fronts which is legal in TX. Shop that did it only put 30% on the fronts cause they said with what was there from the factory it would meter out at about 28%. So in thinking the front stock tint level would be some where around 70% almost just like a uv glaze. And the rears on my 4 door were 20%. I had 5% laid on all back windows and they did an eyebrow and 30% on the front doors. I love it it's like my own personal cave!!

I had mine done 2 weeks ago. They did the front at 20%. I believe it matches very close.

Had mine done with 5% from side windows back, I wanted privacy and cooler temps inside. Turned out great!

I did my fronts 35% and they were noticeably lighter. I then changed the fronts to 20% and it matches pretty close, a little darker than rear but nobody but me notices. Based on this, I'd say the factory rear tint is about 25%.

20-25% is a close visual match but it all depends on the film that is used. Cheap films can be all over the place in shade and color. The more expensive carbon based films are true black/gray. Carbon based also does not interfere with electronics like metal based films do. I did mine with 35% for better visibility at night and state law. On the glass they will measure lower than spec because the glass already has a small amount of tint. At 35% they will measure 28-32% depending on the glass. I will try to get a two piece tint meter today so I can meter the factory glass tint.

I did 30 on my side, but my favorite tint is the 5 3in strip I did at the top of my windshield. May be my favorite mod.

20%, but if you need to match the back windows you better go 5-15% In NJ.
Actually I live in Woodstock, Georgia and there are different rules for window tinting. Last time I have tinted my car by thetintguy and they tinted my car according to the rules. According to Georgia "Front Side Window Tint Must not be more than 20% reflective and
Back Side Window Tinting Films Must not be more than 20% reflective."

dumb question but does tinting the rear window mess with the rear defrosters at all? does the rear defrosters mess with the tint.

Nope, at all! The tinting paper/film is made to resist the heat! If you have a good installer, there's no difference between this and factory!
