Windshield mount bolt frustration

Hey everyone, I recently installed rough country 50 inch light bar brackets along with their windshield light mounts for 6 inch lights...The issue is I cant seem to get one bolt to tighten down. I took the windshield bracket off and still didn't go, then took both brackets off and tried screwing the bolt in and sure enough it tightened. Any suggestions?

One of two things, you either need a longer bolt, which is my guess, or at least try pushing in pretty good while trying to capture the nut that sits behind that hole. It's also possible that the nut moved, so its not lining up quite right. Try changing up which bolt you try to put in first. That bolt hole because the nut sits in a little Chanel has some play in it. So it may be easier to start threading that one first, don't tighten it down until you have both started.

That's what I'm thinking. Longer bolt.

Rough Country gave me longer bolts.... like on the opposite side I had the same exact problems with the new provided longer bolts so I was actually able to use the original torx bolt and that tightened down...but yeah on the passenger side it seems neither bolt wants to grab the nut behind there.

If you look at my build page, you can see how the nut is captured back there, maybe it will help. I at first thought maybe you lost the nut but you said you can get it when the brackets not on, so it must still be there.
