XRC Gen 2 Rear Bumper - Extra Parts...

Hi Folks,

New to the forum and looking for a just little reassurance about my XRC Gen 2 Rear Bumper installation.

I followed the installation instructions provided in the box, and have to agree with other comments I have read that they are lacking some detail (I think I may be being polite here)...

Anyway, I have been successful in installing the bumper but seem to have run into a similar situation when building something from Ikea... I have some extra parts... 4 to be precise.

Image included of the offending items.

Before I find myself driving along with challenges I wanted to see if anybody else had experienced the same issue as me.

Many thanks for any insight, feedback or assurances.

Cheers Neil.

just installed mine last week. Working on a replacement for the cheap lights at the moment - upgrading to rigid.

The bracket with 4 holes is placed in the center of the bumper on the forward edge close to the muffler. The second one will not be used and I expect the hardware supplied is common to the XRC and SRC bumpers hence the extra parts.

I would keep the wire bolt thingy as a spare you used the first one to secure the plate on the passenger side - right?

The last piece in the center is a bracket to mount the trailer plug if you have the towing option.

To everyone that has installed the XRC Gen2 rear bumper and tire carrier, I have a few questions and need help...

1. The bumper came with two flat rectangle metal plates with four holes in them. I used both, one as a washer for the bolts that go in the middle of the bumper and the other for the same bolts but as a spacer between the factory bumper support and the XRC bumper. It worked but it seems like the bumper tilts up slightly. Did you use both?

2. Where and how did you mount the bracket for the factory four pin towing harness plug?

3. When installing the tire carrier, how did you fasten the bottom bolt on the main mounting bracket (the one that mounts to the frame and has the circular pivot bracket the carrier mounts into? It says to use one of those nuts that is attached to the long metal pole but once the bumper is on, you can't access the frame rails. Short of removing the bumper several times, I can't figure how to do it.

Thanks in advance for your help.
