Yoke making contact with gas tank

Hello All,
I'm having an issue with the rear yoke coming into contact with the gas tank skid at full suspension cycle. To fix the issue I installed a rear adjustable Track Bar and moved the axle about .25" to the drivers side. The yoke is no longer making contact but I'm not happy with my rig's handling now. Feels like the ass end is trying to get away from me in turns and high winds. My rear shocks started to leak and I'm getting ready to order replacements (cough upgrade) in hopes this will help with the handling.

My Jeep OCD is flaring about the axle being off center and more importantly I am looking for some ideas on another solution to prevent the Yoke from rotating against the gas tank and centering the axle. Should I had more bump stop, limit straps??

A few more details on this, I have the synergy shock relocation mounts with the shocks positioned in the top mount. Any advise appreciated.

Do you have a stock or aftermarket rear DS ?
Stock gas tank skid or aftermarket ?
Some people will simply pound the gas tank skid with a hammer and/or adjust the axel a little towards the driver side, was you rear axel centered before ? moving the axel shouldn't cause any driveability issues, plenty of people drive with off-center axels without even knowing, not saying yours is currently off center, maybe it was off center before and was the reason the DS was hitting the gas tank ?

The rear ds and skid is stock. The axel was centered when making contact. The reason I was thinking the position of the axel was the cause of the handling issue is because it was the only change I made. I was on the freeway with a slight cross wind, doing the speed limit, changed lanes and the rear end started swaying. It moved so much the esp kicked in and cut power. The rig was loaded down with the same gear I normally carry.

Damn, i don't know what to tell you, have you checked everything back there is tight to specs ? Trackbar and mounts ? lca's/uca's etc, the axel should not shift that bad on the hwy, especially to make esp kick in, unless the wind was crazy, if you put the axel the way it was, do you experience the same issue handling wise ?

Take a trip to Holy jim, about a half mile past the RC airport, there is a spot on the right side with big boulders, you can't miss it, that's where i do all my tests for clearance (check my avatar, that's my testing spot at Holy Jim), since you have an adjustable rear TB, should be easy to test, drive your front passenger tire against one of the boulders, so the front driver droops to the max, and the rear driver go full stuff, that should be more than enough to shift your axel towards the gas tank, in that position, you could adjust the TB, or back down, adjust, get backup and try again (make sure your front is disconnected).

Hope you get it resolved.

I did some experimentation with my rig today, and had a chance to take a look at how my rear yoke looked like when flexed. I took some pics for you that I hope will help. I'll post them later on. It's close but nothing makes contact down there. Stock ds and stock gas tank skid.

I took this pics in my garage this morning to show you the gap between the rear yoke and gas tank,

Not the best angle to take a picture, but it should be around 1 1/2" between the edge of the yoke and the gas tank.

Then Flexed to the max i could

Thanks for putting in the time bud much appreciated. Here are a couple of pics from today. I'm gonna say its time for a new drive shaft. LOL The scoring is from my EVAP Skid and the weights are bent, scored, dented twisted. I'm going to take a wild guess and say this is this the cause of the handling issue at Freeway speeds. LOL

The second pic, the rust colored spot is where the yoke was making contact.

I haven't been out to Holy Jim yet. I need to go make a quick trip and check it out. Have been to the top of Saddleback a couple of times.
