04 vibration

I have a 2004 TJ, just put 2.5 suspension lift and 33x12.5x 15 on 10x15 wheels.
when I accelerate I have a bad vibration in the steering wheel. I let off the gas and it stops.
anyone got any suggestions?

Thanks LLUN

If its only when you are on the gas it sounds like a bad ujoint, CV ball unit, or improper driveshaft angles.

Assuming this happened all of the sudden without any modifications to your suspension, I would check all of your ujoints for play and make sure the bolts that hold the ujoints to the axle yokes are tight.

Its possible it's a bad mount (motor or transmission) but ujoint is most likely.

Did you find the cause of your vibration? My '03 TJ (4.0, auto tranny) just started doing the same thing.

Found my vibration 04 LJ

Pulled the rear drive shaft and found the u joint closest to the transfer case was frozen in one direction. Drove around in 4hi with the drive shaft out. No more vibration.

You got lucky! Sometimes on the front driveshaft seizes it'll tear the transfer case apart!

I do feel lucky. I will probably replace the rear two since i have it already out then check the front shafts closely.
