1999 wipers not working
I'm thinking it's the switch but wanted another opinion.
The Jeep has been a fixer upper. It didn't run when I bought it and had sat outside for several months.
Now it's running, brakes fixed, and I'm running down the little things that need attention.
Anyway, the wipers do not work at all. No position (it has intermittent wipers). I pulled the cowl and the motor is free- I can move the arms by hand. Wiring looks fine. Fuse has power on both sides.
I pulled the connector from the motor and using a test light, checked for power on all pins. Nothing at the motor on any wiper position.
I pulled the wiper switch off the column and checked the power at the connector and have power on 2 pins with the ignition switch on.
This makes me think the switch is the issue. Is this the best way to troubleshoot? Am I missing something?
The Jeep had aftermarket lights on the windshield post. The switch was on the dash cover below the steering wheel. I did pull the lights and all wiring. The power was pulled from a wire in the steering column. Not the main power- that was off a relay under the hood. I don't think the wiper issue is related but wanted to share.
And all other things work. Horn, blinkers, etc.
