2003 Jeep Rubicon

Is it possible to change the door handles from the flip (original) to a regular handle with the push button??
Thanks.

Well in theory you could change your original door paddle to any type of handle you would like. You would have to talk to a body shop or car custom shop to have it done. Most places if you have the money to spend they are willing to do what you want. There really isn't a quick at home mod to do what I think you are asking. May I ask why and what type of handle are you thinking? Like the new 2008 and newer handle with the push button?

X2...
Probably could be done, but it would be a totally custom job. The rectangular hole in the door left from removal of the paddle handle would have to be filled, and the door repainted. Someone would have to manufacture custom linkage to make the new handle work with the tj lock and latch system.
Sounds pretty expensive for a small gain.

Looking for alternatives, have to replace the original flip handles, worn out, so wanted to see if the handles could or would fit, like the four door models, not sure of the year, have looked replaceing the door but the newer will not fit, can do linkage , no need to fill in the recess, but thanks for the input.

They used the paddle handle from the CJ to the 2006 Jeep Wrangler in 2007 when they switched to the JK they went to the button style door handle. You are correct the JK doors will not work on a 1997-06 Jeep Wrangler TJ.

You have to fill the hole left by the door paddles if you where to take them out of the door and custom fabricate the newer Jeep Wrangler JK door handles on with custom linkage. You can't leave the paddle handles on the door because they occupy the same real estate that's needed for the new push button style door handles. You also can't leave the hole exposed because then you would have nothing for the new handle to mount to and the weather and people would be able to get into your door.

I looked and there are absolutely no kits to do what you want at home. You would have to go to a body shop or custom car fabricator to get what you want done.

Stick with paddles they look right and are functional

The YJ flips them so the pull the opposite way hence a left door TJ outside handle is a right door YJ handle
