Unhappy 2006 Jeep Wrangler Compressor Smoking HELP

I was driving home from North Conway and my friend was feeling cold water occasionally fall onto his feet in the passenger seat. I didnt think to much of it we had lots of gear all over the place it was all pretty soaked. I was about 100 miles into the trip when a horrible smell took over the car. I immediadly went into the break down lane to discover that my A/C compressor was smoking up a storm. I love my jeep and i want to buy the new compressor to fix the issue but i need to be able to work. Does anyone know how to bypass the compressor. Many people have told me to get a bypass pully or a shorter serpitine belt. I can find neither please help any ideas?
