42RLE Code P0733

I have recently installed the traildash on my '04 TJ Rubicon, ran it for a week in all different programming modes available. then after an hr-1/2 trip stopped to fill up W/ 87 Oct, changed program to 87 Oct. then drove down the road, as soon as it got to 3rd gear went in to limp mode. the traildash and the OE diagn. showed P0700 (however I did leave the gas cap off for the first time Immediately after fill up that’s 1st time went into limp)tried another diagnostic reader & showed codeP0733 wrong 3rd gear ratio??, cleared the code run it again got it to shift into fourth but still goes into limp mode????

I have never believed aftermarket chips like that did anything remotely positive enough to bother installing. I'd remove it and put it on Craigslist. Especially that your problems started right after you installed it.

Not to mention they are bound by Federal EPA regulation to be unable to change the timing or air/fuel mixture unless you're at or near redline RPMs with a wide-open-throttle... not exactly the way many of us drive our Jeeps, teenagers excepted.

P.S. I noticed you have a throttle body spacer installed. Spacers can really help with performance when placed under carburetors or the older style of throttle body with a fuel injector in it called Throttle Body Injection. Both of those pass an air/fuel mixture into the intake manifold. The TJ's newer style throttle body however passes nothing but air, the fuel is injected well below the throttle body by the fuel injectors. Adding that extra distance for the air to travel does literally nothing for performance under the TJ's type of throttle body, despite the hype.

Superchips is working the issue now thay say i need to update the trialdash on \Fusion which will alow them to look in to the tuner to see whats goin on.

The throttle body I have replaced w/ the edge trailjammer kit
& no i did not notice a difference with the spacer

P.S. the Edge power pack was removed before installing Traildash

Cool

So... I go in to the dealership yesterday to pick up my mopar filter for the
42RLE & I over hear a service rep talking to a costumer having the same issue as me "P0733 wrong third gear ratio" he proceed to tell the costomer that the technicians have been talking to the engineers and they have come to the conclusion that he needs to bring it to the dealership so they can check the 3rd gear clutch.......HMMM sure hope the filter change works for me......

I really need help with the issue first mentioned...not criticism on how my rig is built...I've searched the threads trying to find a resolution to the issue stated & found none. I was planning a wheelng trip this wknd... that is why i posted earlier in the week

You may not like that I'm no fan of aftermarket "performance" chips but if you're that anxious to fix the problem, why not just remove the Traildash to see if that fixes or doesn't fix the problem. You were already told by Superchip that the Traildash could be the cause of the problem and that it needs an update for them to know for sure.

Traildash has been removed since the problem ocurred, ran the codes, returned to stock, ran codes w/ an OBDII made several runs after clearing codes still same issue, going to change trans fluid & filter today then trans flush
Superchips did not tell me Traildash could be problem they said I need to update the trialdash on \Fusion which will alow them to look in to the tuner to see whats goin on.
