42RLE trouble >.<

So I've read thru a couple posts, seems like a couple of folks have had similar problems, but just wanted to throw this out there.

A while back I put my jeep in reverse (4.0, automatic) and it started grinding a little. I played around with it, (probably shouldn't have) and eventually let it roll backwards and I heard a "Pop" and it never acted up again.

Well today, I was driving it around and stopped to eat, while leaving and backing out of the parking spot it did it again. I got it home and now it does it in Drive too. I can pull it down in drive, and it won't idle forward, I have to press the gas and it will rev up then slam forward all of a sudden

I just put a new engine in it, rebuilt the T case not too long ago, I'm seriously thinking I should just buy a horse, but then it'd probably get Colic on me.

Any suggestions? Am I looking at rebuilding it, or should I just look for other options? I can build you a computer, or a house, but I'm not a mechanic.

Thanks ya'll.
