4lo question

2001 Wrangler 4.0L sport, when I use 4low the same light comes on as when i'm in 4hi (PART TIME 4WD) is that normal?

Yep, normal. Both 4Lo and 4Hi are part-time modes. The full-time indicator you may be seeing is not used in the Wrangler, it's for the now-discontinued Cherokee that used the same instrument cluster. There is no full-time mode in any Wrangler.

^ Wouldn't the full time be from a Zj though with thier Quadra-Trac transfercase? It only has 4-Hi & 4-Low.

Tj & Xj's have the Selec-Trac transfercases

Xj also had a full time case.. np or nv 242 as recall.. very nice I miss mine...

Mine does the same thing. Its an 01 as well. There is a full time and a low range idiot light on the cluster...but ive never seen the low range one come on. Dunno if the light was burnt or if it was just an option i didnt have. But as long as the front end is pulling its all good lol.

if you really miss yours I just happen to have one taking up space under my workbench in my garage...
