I had to order the shifter pattern insert and now canít figure out how to get it in. Any ideas? It really seems too big but maybe Iím just not forcing it hard enough. Anyone done this before?

Use a hair dryer to soften the opening then shove the shift. pattern plate in from the side.

Definitely requires heat. Be careful because it's easy to mess up the knob.

I had a heck of a time but once I got enough heat in it and using a very small flat head screwdriver to coax it along I got it in with no damage.
