97 Jeep TJ Turns Over But Wont Start After Replacing 2 Sensors and Fuel Pump

I was coming back from the mojave when suddenly the engine cut off. I been trying to bring her back on , but with no luck.

I started with the fuel pump since the fuel rod was empty, but hours after pumping by hand 16 gallons out of the tank and replacing the pump no luck - a ton of gas in the fuel rod with pressure galore, but no start - but I then got a code finally 54 -- camshaft.

I replaced the camshaft which is a disk underneath the distributor cap. No codes, but it still wont start!

So i went with the standby - I got a Crank Positioning Sensor and put it in. She still wont start! Currently the battery is totally dead now from all the cranking (and the inverter keeping the phone charged whilst i waited for triple AAA in the night). i have to work out getting a jump from a good samaritain to test it out, but I've exhausted everything I currently know how to do to get her to run again with no luck.

Any suggestions how I can get my baby running again?

Did you make sure you were TDC of the compression stroke after installing the cam shaft sensor?

Start with basics
Does it crank briskly
Does it spark at plug end of plug wire
What is the fuel rail pressure

Never throw parts at a problem see what is wrong first

I pulled the plugs and attach it to the wire and cranked it.

No spark! I think i did this right -- i placed it a bit on metal, but no spark jumps out so Now what could cause this condition?

[QUOTE=Digger84;34500747]Will only spark if body of plug is grounded

I grounded it, and tried putting a screwdriver in each side of the spark plug wire and no spark, no spark was coming from the ignition coil pack - and when i took it off it looked old and cracked - so i took the 4 mile walk roundtrip to autozone and got a new one and replace it and still no spark. She's still dead in the water.

What else could this no start be? I'm getting no codes on the ECU at all - and there is fuel in the rail - maybe too much now!

For a coil to make spark it gets a constant plus 12 and a pulsing ground while cranking

See it it is getting the plus 12 and pulsing ground with a test light

If it is and no spark from coil then the coil is bad

I hooked the test light to the Postive Battery Terminal and touched it to the Exposed Ignition Coil. It was red, and when i cranked it it Pulsed!
A video: https://streamable.com/0047f

Does that mean that the ignition coil is getting power?

Unforuntately she still isnt turning over yet

Put the test light across the two leads to the coil and see if it flashes when cranking
