A/c heater blower not working...help

2000 Wrangler TJ. Blower motor is not working. Verified that it is not seized also replaced the fan speed switch (had one). The resistor was full of debris and the wiring harness showed signs of melting. I replaced both. The fan will still not come on. Where do I go next?

Thanks for any help

Power the fan motor directly and see if it runs.

Not sure how to do this without removing the fan. Can you advise the wiring plug I need to search for in order to power the fan motor?

Since you have already replaced the motor you know where the power connector to the motor is. Be sure that connector gets power (the dark green wire) when the key in on & that the other wire (black/tan) has continuity to ground. Make sure the connector is in good shape (not melted or signs of excessive heat). If you have power & ground plug it back in & wiggle it around to be sure it is not a loose connection in one of the terminals.

If still no go, go to this link for a complete troubleshooting procedure for the circuit. Most likely you don’t have a good ground.
