airbag light

I have a 2000 TJ sport. 5 spd. Today my airbag light came on, then my tach and speedo started going ape shit. All other gages where fine and it kept running fine. Any help would be great. Jeep on

Check the clock spring , mine did that same thing, replaced it and no problems. Easiest way to test is see if the horn works. Picked mine up at a salvage yard for $20
Hope it helps

Or could be the classic pin connector on the cluster problem. I would remvove the instrument cluster, gently scrape the pins (I use an xacto knife) apply some dielectric grease and reinstall the cluster. My 00 did this not long after I bought it 4 years ago.

It's a electrical connection under the steering wheel that allows the wheel to turn and still make the necessary connections. If you turn the wheel too far, it can snap. Also happens over time, if the horn doesn't work, that's where I'd start

When the clockspring went in my 97 SE, it only affected the airbag and horn. All the gauges worked normally.

Yeah like it said it seems to run fine otherwise. If just don't want to mess it up any further
