Axle help

So now that I've seen on a few threads that I need to upgrade my Dana 35 axle in the rear because it's pretty much a ticking time bomb with 35s and lockers. That's said I'm doing an axle swap in the near future. I'm leaning towards a g2 Dana 44 that's geared and locked. I'm wondering what all do I have to buy to put the g2 on. Do they take the same driveshafts? Thank you

Should b bolt in. Ur drive shaft may or may not work depending on ur lift and other things. When I did my swap I had to get a sye and new shaft along with adjustable arms which I needed anyway with my 4"lift. But others say that their stock shaft bolted up just fine.

I have adjustable arms, sye, and extended driveshaft so it should work without buying anything else then

U may have to have your drive shaft shortened some d44 have a slightly longer pinion than a 35 but u might be able to get by with adjustable arms. By moving the axle back a bit. Did u build the jeep our did u buy it like it is. If u bought it u may actually have upgraded parts in the 35 that would make it strong enough for what u have. What I'm saying is if someone put a locker in they may have upgraded the shafts while they were doing it so u may b fine. Would b worth checking before u drop that kind of money in a d44

O u mean the slip in the drive shaft? That's in all of them to allow movement when the axle shifts around when u flex and drive down the road. That doesn't mean it's adjustable. U may b able to get by with that it would just give u less compression on the driveshaft depending on the length of the slip splines

You have no need to upgrade your Dana 30 front axle to a G2 Dana 44 unless you have something broken or like to jump your jeep. Put some chromoly axle shafts in and you will be totally fine locked on 35" tires.

I upgraded both front and rear to G2 Dana 44's. Both drive shafts had to be shortened.
