Axle seal leaking?

Just noticed a blue drip forming and wondering if it is my axle seal leaking? Trying to diagnose this and determine if this is something I can fix and if it is the axle seal what else should I replace if I'm going to be in there?

Is it possible that that could be brake fluid. Do you know if you have some kind of synthetic gear oil in that axle?

What does it smell like? Axle oil or brake fluid, or whatever? Sometimes the smell alone can give it away.

Though it looks like a thin fluid in the image, it's probably brake fluid as others mention. :-)

Is it on the same side as the windshield washer fluid reservior? That's blue. Usually. It could be cracked or have a leaking line or pump.

Definitely isn't brake fluid. Smelled it and it wasn't that strong a smell. After looking closer it's coming from around top of the axle. Last shop that worked on it did change out the gear oil just not sure if it was synthetic. I'm going to change the rotors and brakes soon anyways so might as well put new seals in since it doesn't look too hard.
