Backseat 12v accessory ideas

Hello! I recently purchased an 02 Sahara and am looking for ideas on how to add either a 5v USB port or 12v outlet for the backseat riders. This will be used to charge tablets, phones etc. I do have a factory sub in the console so I am not sure about clearance for flush mounting a port. Do you all have any recommendations?

Mount one on each side by the B-pillar down tube on the tub. Run the wiring down the sides under the doors to your fuse panel and tap off one of the 2 "extra" wires behind the glove box. 1 wire is 12v constant hot and the other is switched. You pick which one you want to use. Just remember to wire an inline fuse to it.

I cannot remember the wire colors but they should have tags on them and won't be connected to anything.

Oh cool I didnt think of putting them over there but that makes sense. Did you have any idea of what kind of outlets worked best? I wouldn't mind just putting in 5v usb ports if I knew they would actually charge everything as advertised.

Off hand no but would say check out ebay for some smaller than stock ones, make sure when you do you look at the photos closely. I bought 2 that did not have the +/- markings on it and when I hooked it up I fried a charger for my phone. Thankfully the phone was not plugged in, charger had a light on it that came on when plugged into the outlet.

I say get smaller ones than stock because of space. You can try something like this: USB Port oz Usa® for Rocker Switch Panel Universal Dual Power Socket Blue LED | eBay
and get a couple of these to mount: 6pcs Boat Car Rocker Switch Clip Panel Patrol Holder Housing for ARB Carling 4x4 | eBay
