Battery temp sensor

After trouble shooting a vacuum issue I decided to service my battery connections while I was in the general area. I updated my battery (red top), replaced the cable terminals, and noticed my battery tray was rusted and rattling. This is when I discovered the existence of a battery sensor cable.

Has anyone replaced their battery tray with an aftermarket one and if so how did you manage/attach/bypass the temp sensor?

I just completed a frame and tub swap. I basically used some 100 MPH tape (Aka Duct tape) and adhered this sensor to the battery. have not had an issue since.

Realistically, that sensor is suppose to be under the battery, but the plate i have doesn't have a good place to mount it.

I would look around at the various auto recycling locations, any of them should have a used battery mounting plate. Don't remove or bypass the battery temperature sensor, that is what prevents the alternator from overcharging the battery.
