Brake Pads

Hello.

My front rotors are still ok but I need new brake pads.
Which ones should I buy?

Original Mopar brake pads?
Or are there some better pads?

The brake pads need an "E certification" to ne allowed here in Europe.

p. e.
EBC green are allowed, EBC yellow not.

Black Magic pads with Centric rotors. Best performance with stock tj brakes.

I prefer OEM equipment if the price is reasonable. They usually have the best life span of other parts.

there are better than stock brake componets to be had for our TJs. However, I spent 13 years in Germany and know the TUV all to well. Especially when the meister is having a bad day!! Hang it up you will never pass inspection. I suspect though that if you showed up with the vanco big brake kit installed, that would make their day, because they will see that you have installed bigger brakes to help you stop quicker.

For those of you who don't know, the Germans (possibly all of Europe) requires a special paper slip (ABE= auto betriebs erlaubnus) that gets added to your registration just to be allowed to run a part that is not stock to the vehicle. I mean if you even want to put a slightly larger tire on you have to have one of these!

Thanks!

The Black Magic pads aren't allowed here.
I only found EBC Green and Raybestos.

Are the EBC Green pads better than stock?
Would I notice a difference?

BTW the German TUV wouldnt notice other pads during the inspection. But if had an accident and they see that my brake pads weren't allowed I would have a problem with the insurance.
I've many parts on my TJ that aren't allowed and never had a problem. But some parts like brakes have to be ok because they could say that they caused an accident.

I used raybestos pads for the last few months with stock rotors.

Now I need new rotors and pads.

What is better?

EBC Premium rotors and Greenstuff pads?
Or
EBC Premium rotors and Yellowstuff pads?
