Cleaning an Air Raid filter

Is there anything special I need to clean my Air Raid filter? Just water? Or something special like the K&N filter?

Is that a cotton gauze filter like the K&N is? If so, any cleanser like Fantastic, Simple Green, 409, etc. will work fine.

Simple Green is how I cleaned mine when I had one. I would wet it down first, then liberally spray it with SG. Let it sit for about 30 minutes then spray it off with the hose thoroughly. I would clean it when I changed the oil. Worked great for the 7 years I owned the vehicle. Just be sure and treat it with K&N filter oil (or similar) afterward.
