cleaning the throttle body

I cleaned the throttle body today, i noticed mine did not have a gasket between the body and manifold, i thought in the other threads they mention a gasket? oh and dont drop the red plastic straw down in the manifold either, yes i got it out haha!- Also mine was preety dirty leadin down inside toward the back of the manifold , is there away to clean this,or is it normal, just dont want to seng gunk to the injectors.
thanks, 2004 4.0

Seafoam makes a spray foam product called Seafoam Creep, spray that in there after the engine's been warmed up and let it sit for about 30 min. Should do the trick.
