Sell the wife to the highest bidder and buy whatever manifold/header you want...lol

Seriously though...I'd go with a 2-piece replacement I believe...I hear the older TJ's have one piece manifolds which don't flex and instead just crack whereas the newer ones have a 2-piece manifold that flexes when it gets hot instead of cracks. Not positive on that info, but I think that's what I read...

i got mine off of an xj (same ones) and it has the two piece, almost looks like a flexible pipe where the 3 go into one and the other three go into one. I havn't had any issue with it. I think i paid under 100 at the junk yard

Get something like this (notice the expandable sections on the outer pipes) ... you can find a cheap one on ebay.

Anybody know what a ballpark labor cost would be to have a shop install one? I'm learning a lot about my Jeep....but not sure I wanna tackle that kind of job especially with basic hand tools. I think mine may be cracked...haven't checked for sure, but I'm hearing the classic ticking/hissing sound of a cracked manifold. Unless it's a lifter...lol

I put a JBA header in when my rear half-manifold cracked. I think I had $240 in labor at the friendly local shop. It's extremely straight-forward to swap, assuming the bolts into the head don't break off. I've got two years on the header now, and so far so good.

If you're into laughing, ask your dealer to price the parts and labor for an OEM replacement.

I work for the owner of a Chrysler dealership so I'd get a good deal

...but the local shops are still usually cheaper even with employee pricing. Even the dealerships get raped on the prices of certain OEM parts.

I had a local shop here do mine, parts and labor was $300 about 2 summers ago. I just didn't have time, killed me to pay someone to work on my rig.
