I just bought a 2006 TJ that was converted to 6.1 L HEMI by the previous owner. It has the factory steering wheel with the cruise controls, but cruise control doesn't work. I found a empty plug underneath the steering colum, just above the pedals, labeled 'cruise control module'. It is a 10 pin connector, see pics attached. So the module seems to be missing. Any suggestions with regards to the part number of the cruise control module or where i can source it? Thanks
If you have throttle by wire setup adding cruise may be as simple as adding proper buttons to send control signals to pcm/ecu but stock servo will definitely not work
You need the FSM for the vehicle your engine and engine controls came out of
seems like the hemi and PCM comes out of a 2007 grand cherokee. steering wheel control communicates by CAN Bus. not sure how to make that work with the stock 2006 wrangler wheel controls.
according to the wiring diagramm, the speed control buttons on the 2007 cherokee are connected to a module steering control, and that communicates with module front control. not clear how the speed control communicates with the PCM. connectors.dctools.com results in 'page under construction'
further research revealed that some TJ hemi conversions had a speed control module by hotwire. so the connector i have is not stock but part of the conversion harness. The module is missing in my truck. will get in touch with hotwire.
