Distributor and Rotor

99 TJ, 4.0 motor. Have found an ignition distributor with brass contacts, but all the rotors I've located have aluminum contacts. Anyone have any other sources for finding a rotor with brass contacts (like they all used to be!). Or is this what it is and I'll have to run the aluminum contacted rotor with the brass contacted distributor?

Brass is a better (longer lasting) material for the distributor cap and rotor contacts but it's ok to mix in aluminum for the time being.

You can try here. I'm pretty sure this part is brass, but you might want to call and double check, it's been a while since I've ordered a rotor from them

I've exhausted the auto parts stores in my area and even checked with the dealership parts department and no luck. Everything is aluminum. Any ideas where I can find one online? Should I check with Summit Racing or Morris or 4x4 stores like those? I'm at a loss where to go from here in finding an ignition rotor with brass contacts. Thanks.

Have you tried NAPA? Blue Streak used to be a brand name that was brass but I haven't bought one in a long time.

Yes, I've tried NAPA, Autozone, O'Reilly's, and a local shop called Motion Auto Parts. Called the Chrysler dealer, check online at We R Mopar.com (same part # as dealership). That's about all the local resources I have at my disposal and I don't live in a small town, so one would think it would be available. Of course, customer service tends to be limited to whatever shows up on the monitor. Thanks for the suggestion, though.
