Door wont close

Having a problem with my drivers side door. When its below freezing it sometimes won't stay shut. I will slam it and everything. I figured out if I hold the door shut and lock it, the door will stay shut but then my lock won't unlock and I have to crawl out the passenger side. my ideas?

First thread BTW. Way to go me!

I tried lubricating it but nothing changed. Maybe if I use a whole can of wd40. Actually I'll try that now...

I'm not sure how wd40 holds up in low temps. When you work the handle does everything move? Check and see if the latch is moving properly.

This happened on my YJ. I had to pull the door panel and lubricate all the linkages inside the door. The old grease gets gummy in the cold weather.

WD-40 won't last. You'll need something like a white lithium spray grease.

I'll get some better grease and get inside the door. I'm sure that's it with what's happening, if not then cleaning up the parts certainly won't hurt. Thanks all!
