Economy gear

I have a 2005 wrangler x. The manual tranny has an economy gear. I asked the dealership about it and they never heard of it. Dealership has been around for years and no one there could explain why it had one. Any thoughts

Is it a 5sp or 6sp? They are probably referring to overdrive (5th gear)

Economy gear = Overdrive? The problem might be that no one calls it an economy gear. I even googled it and found nothing.

Economy and Jeep in the same sentence?

If you found something that states "economy", then it was surely a bad marketing ploy at best!

I'm guessing aftermarket shift knob.
Can you take a picture?

Edit:
Along the same lines as the famed 710 cap, this one can be easily explained by a simple mistake.

Draw the number 6
Imagine a lot of wear on the knob
Imagine a lot of wear specifically at the bottom of the knob
Maybe imagine that the bottom of the 6 gets worn to look like an E

Or it is an aftermarket prank knob

Gordon-o...I think you are on to something. The 05 did come with a 6 speed.
