Engine check light lit up

Today my engine light lit up and took it to a local mechanic shop and pulled the code. It said mis-firing on plug 3. Does this mean the spark plug is bad or the coil pack is going bad? Coil pack is pretty expensive. I am changing out the plugs this weekend. Has anyone run into this before?

Ughhh....one thing after another and keeping me from buying other mods.

Have you installed aftermarket spark plugs? If so, what brand and model # spark plug did you install and about how many miles ago did you install them?

I don't know what brand or how long ago when it got replaced. I did not change it since I bought the Jeep. I just put around 2k miles on it after I got it. Now it is about 99.5k miles.

you most likely still have factory plugs.. def. start with the plugs and see if you still have the issue.. coil packs are each to change, but hard on the wallet..

i had this happin too. my plugs had about 2 thousand miles on them. i let it almost stall on a hill and the light came on. when i got home i put new plugs in it and had the code clear and doing good for two weeks now.put some good plugs in it and have the code cleared and you should be fine.

Had cyl 2 misfire, replace plugs and coil harness in one shot and all is better. Carquest was about 230 for coil
