Engine Cooling fan on at Highway Speed

Hi all,

Trying to find an answer for this.

Can anybody tell me the rationale of the cooling fan turning on?

I am driving on highway, no AC, oil coolant and transmission temps are less than 200 F. Cooling fan comes on at highway speeds and goes down at stop lights and again full speed when i reach 40 MPH and up.
Cooling fan should come on when temp are up and at low speed not the way around...Scratching my head. Any help???

Your profile and your previous posts indicate that you may have a TJ, so you may have posted this in the JL thread by accident.

If this is indeed a TJ, then what you describe sounds like a fan clutch that is stuck always on. It may be time for a new one.

In order to get an answer that matches the vehicle/engine that you have, you need to disclose that information.
