Exhaust Manifold

Hey guys, I plan on replacing my Exhaust Manifold in a couple weeks when I have some vacation coming up. I already have the manifold and took some advice from another thread on this forum. Someone actually posted a link to a walkthrough for the whole job, awesome stuff.

I fully expect that once I get my intake manifold and throttle assembly taken off that there will be a considerable amount of "gunk" or other crap built up inside there that I would like to clean out while I have it opened up.

Can anyone tell me what I should use to do this? or whether I even should? advice? recommendations?

Thanks everyone

I would really only be concerned that you get the intake manifold properly positioned & reinstalled correctly. If you don't, you'll have a vacuum leak between the head and intake manifold which will produce extremely high (!!) engine rpms when you start the engine.

Take time to properly position the intake manifold over the short little positioning studs & tighten it down properly and you won't have to re-install it as so many junior mechanics do when they think 'that's good enough' when positioning/reinstalling the intake manifold.
When you have a choice, buy American.
