Front bumper wont fit onto mount

I recently purchased a smitybilt SRC tubular bumper for '99 TJ. The stock bumper came off fine but when we went to put on the new bumper it did not fit. Any suggestions on what to do?

It is Smittybilt. This sort of problem is sort of the norm for them and why so many here like to call the company "Shittybilt."

I would find out what the centers of the bumper bolt holes on the frame *should* be, then measure yours. Then measure the bumper. One of them has to be off. If it is the frame that might be something that can be corrected for not too much money. If it is the bumper you may be able to alter it to fit.

If you have something more specific to ask then that I would take some clear photos of the bumper held in place to show the alignment or clearance issues. We can't really help you all that much without a clear description of the problem; "did not fit" is pretty vague.

Good luck, man.

Pictures would help. Front or rear bumper?

When i installed my rear bumper i had to widen the holes a little with a plasma cutter because they were off by 1/4 on each side.
