Fuel Guage wires

Hey guys I'm doing a v8 conversion and I'm putting autometer gauges where the factory cluster my question is where do you guys get the wire signal to the autometer Guage? Since the can bus is 2 wires and does oil, water, tach, speedo and fuel level. Any help would be appreciated

You will probably have to get that from the wiring harness between the tank & the PCM. 2 wires are for the pump, 2 for the gauge.

Whether the sender (resistance) is compatible with the gauge is another question.

Fuel Guage wires

Agree with Rubi and for what it is worth no TJ uses CAN bus

97-2000 are twisted pair CCD bus

2001-2006 are single wire PCI bus

The CAN bus arrived in wrangler with the JK

On a 2001 the wires from the fuel level sender are

Black with light blue stripe which is a common sensor ground that also goes to several other sensors and comes from the black PCM connector pin 4

Dark blue with light green stripe the fuel level sensor wire from pin 26 on the gray PCM connector

All three PCM connectors (black white and gray) have 32 pins in three rows
1-11 row 1
12-21 row 2
22-32 row 3
