Fun With My Slushbox

Any 42rle experts out there? I was backing up a steep muddy embankment to get into a better position to winch somebody out of a hole the other night, I was in 4lo and suddenly no more reverse. I figured the t-case had just popped out of gear, but alas... The valve body/solenoid pack went bad about 3 months ago, It goes into "limp home mode" occasionally, but its easy to fix and i havent gotten around to taking it in. Is the loss of my reverse gear as simple as a clogged/damaged valve body? Or am I in deeper poo poo as far as physical damage to the transmission is concerned?

Is there still no reverse, or was it in that instance only? I have heard that the 42rle has something of a shallow/unbaffled pan, and steep angles can make it suck air/slip.

It's gone gone. Basically have 2 neutrals. From I hope it's the band... Not sure if I trust myself to play around up in there though...

There are no bands to adjust in the 42RLE.

There's not? I've heard/read varying things. Your word trumps them. So are the clutches burned up?
