Question Help from 97 TJ owners needed

I need to change the MAP sensor on my 97 TJ, 2.5L and I have the strangest situation. I know the first TJs had a mix of parts from YJs, as I also had a headache when changing the IAC, mine came with a YJ one for the factory so the TJ one did not match. But at least the YJ part matched.

In this case, what is on the car doesn't match the parts manual and it doesn't match what I can find to buy.

Model 1:

In the parts manual I have one which looks like the YJ MAP sensor. Pic here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Pyl...ew?usp=sharing

I found one similar to what I see in the manual, using the part no, but it's twice as expensive as the other models and won't match as it has a mother electrical plug, the same plug as the harness on the Jeep. You need to have mother-father to be able to connect, so I cannot connect it. Pic here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1vh6...ew?usp=sharing

Model 2:

Then, to make things even stranger, on the same part # I found this one, with flat pins: https://drive.google.com/file/d/14ej...ew?usp=sharing

This one is very similar as a shape with what I have already installed, but mine has round pins, while the one above has flat pins:

https://drive.google.com/file/d/13P_...ew?usp=sharing
https://drive.google.com/file/d/18Y4...ew?usp=sharing

I cannot seem to find model 2 with round pins so I am curious if anyone had the same issue on early TJs and what worked?

If someone has a similar original one, on a 97TJ, can you please help me with a confirmation on what kind of sensors/pins you have?

Mistery solved.

5602 9405 is the part no for part with "upgraded OBD2" and it has flat pins.

5602 8303 is the part no for part without "upgraded OBD2"and has round pins.

Mine has round pins and OBD2 and is an EU model, so not sure what is going on. But at least I know what part no I am looking for, although I cannot seem to find the part no in european shops.

Leaving this here for other who might hit the same issue.

One more question springs to mind though, mine has a very long hose, which I think will get in the way when mounted on the throttle body. I suspect the PO improvized something.

Can someone share a pic with the MAP sensor hose for a 97?

Early '97 TJs used a lot of electrical parts from the 95 YJ it replaced. If parts for a '97 don't fit, use one for a '95 YJ. My early '97 TJ had a 3/96 manufacture date and at least several of its sensors like the TPS required '95 YJ replacements.

Thanks Jerry, I learned that the hard way. Mine is made in 05.1996.

Apparently this MAP sensor is for a 4.0L Grand Cherokee and this model part was only used in 1996.

I guess they used whatever leftovers they had in the parts bin. I found the part, but still there is the mistery of the hose, which I think is a change made by the PO. So any pics of a 97 MAP Sensor hose would be great.
