instrument cluster fuse blowing

Hey Guys, I'm having a new electrical problem. The 10a fuse under the hood that powers the dashboard blows as soon as a fuse is inserted. the key isn't on and nothing is running. Any ideas?

You have a short.

Pull the cluster and try another fuse. If it blows then run the wires looking for pinches or if it is rubbing somewhere. If it does not you have a problem in the cluster.

Depending on the year, at least some (if not all) clusters use the same feed that powers the under hood light, dome, and courtesy lights. You might try checking those before you pull your dash apart.
