interesting clunking

Afternoon, I installed a skyjacker budget boost with jks disconnects aswell as a new track bar and began hearing a clunking sound everytime a start off in first gear. It starts slow and gets progressively faster until it goes away, lasting maybe 4 seconds. Has anyone either had this or does anyone know the cause. Thanks

Sounds like it could be either a bad u-joint or a loose bolt.
Physically check the control arms, trackbar bolts and disco's with a wrench to make sure its secure & tight.

Chris

mine did that and it was a u-joint. I replaced all of them and the sound was gone

Thanks, I appreciate the help. How involved is the repair, I have yet to fix something like this.

Depends on what the actual issue is and if it's a U-joint it depends on weather its an axle u-joint or driveshaft u-joint.

we changed all of them. If you get it before they actually break..it isnt that bad I watched and it didnt seem that bad and the parts arent that expensive. again do it before they break and you bend an axle or drop a driveshaft..My friend showed me what it was because he could reach behind my tire and actuallym wiggle my front axle because the u-joint ws so worn it moved back and forth which was making the noise in slow speeds. figured if that one was bad they all were it took an afternoon maybe 2-3 hrs

While you're down there, replace all of them with fresh greasable Spicer units. If you haven't changed them recently, it's probably time anyway.
