I have a 98 tj 4.0
31 inch wheels and a 2 inch skyjacker lift

just today the left wheel started squeeking
it goes faster the faster i go and vica versa
its not the suspension

the squeek pulsates according to the speed
its really high pitched
sounds like metal on metal like when there's not enough lubricant or something

any ideas?

Just at first guess without any further knowing about the sound, I'd say offhand either the drakes or a hub bearing

i agree and i would also check your driveshaft universals

i jacked it up off the ground and spun the wheel by hand and it didnt make any noise at all, and i also tried to shake the wheel and it didn't budge at all

Well if nothings moving or broke step one is to COMPLETELY GREASE EVERYTHING under there, teh "U" joints, hub bearings, ( if they have zerks on them, the upper and lower ball joints , tie rod ends, drag link, and the idler arm
And anything else you can find under there, if the noise goes away, you should be ok, if it doesn't take it in and have everything checked. A squeak under load might not make a sound under no load conditions, Hub Bearings are famous for that, I drilled mine out on my Jeep and grease them when I grease everything else.
