I have the Zone 4.25" combo kit. I love it. I have a question tho.

I may be getting a great deal on some e-autogrilles fenders that were bought but the jeep was wrecked before they were put on. Im working a deal with him now. Well on another forum they have talked about the fender having more room and being worth the money (really worth it if you get a huge deal).

The Zone 4.25" kit came with 2" bumpstops. Could i redo the bumpstops to 1"? I did not look at the coil or the shock while stuffed. Well i looked at it but i dont recall how much room was left.

I i could take the bumpstops down to just 1" would that bind the zone kit up to much? Would 1" less bumpstops even get more any more flex?

the trails i ride on ofter get a tire of mine up in the air just a bit. I am working on keeping the tires on the ground & locked.

Any help would be nice. If im being stupid please just say so.

I think what's going to limit you (more than anything) is the compressed length of your shocks.

Yes as far as up travel goes. Thats what im trying to find out. Would i damage the shock with 1" more? I will pull my links out this weekend if someone else doesnt know.

you could damage them from up or down travel either one. You will have to cycle your axles after you do the fender swap. But if you got the white shocks from Zone, they are cheap enough to upgrade if it does limit you.

Personally, I'd leave the bumps alone and go to a bigger tire... After all, bigger is always better, right?

Your springs are your ultimate determinants in travel--full bind at the top boundary and free standing height at the lower boundary. If you want to maximize the travel your coils offer you, you've got to do the detective work and determine what's limiting you now and change that. With more travel comes more stress on the components that locate your axle, such as the control arms and track bars.....don't forget the drag link TRE at the pitman arm. You need to ensure that those components have more than enough misalignment capability to work within your travel boundaries. And unless you plan on making some changes to your shock mounts and shock travel then you're probably locked into where you're set right now.

This is standard procedure for optimizing suspension travel, regardless of whose name is on your coils or the other components.

I will have to flex the zone out again and really look at it. If there is room to compress the coil more i may do that. I wont get my hopes you to much.

Imped Thanks for the great info like normal but that is what you said. In the end you gave me great info on a direction to take. That direction is to test the system. Once tested i will know for sure if it has more potential or not. I know you know your stuff so i would bet that you are 100% right in the fact that im maxed out as is. I understand that all the parts must work together to make the unit work.

The only reason i ask this to start with is the fact that i would think most companies have a comfort zone in their kits. If the kit was designed for a stock TJ it may have more potential for a modified TJ.
