So every morning when I start my 2006 TJ 4.0 it runs fine. When I drive down the road going through 1st ,2nd and 3rd gear it starts to spit and spudder. I lose all power, MPH guage drops to zero, RPM down to 500. Check engine light flashes on and off, but will not stay on so I can read it. If I push the clutch in and rev it power comes back, and everything is fine. But then does it again through 2nd and 3rd. Usually only happens within the first 15 minutes of driving then it's fine for the rest of the day. I have a video but cant figure out how to post it. Sorry if this is a repost I couldn't find anything on the forum. Any help would be greatly appreciated. TIA
It is not storing any code(s) at all that an OBD-II scan tool can see?
I have heard of exhaust manifold leaks at the gasket/block or at the flange causing a gap big enough to mess with readings taken by the O2 sensors. Sometimes the gaps close up after everything is warmed up and acts like like nothing happened. Just one potential theory of many possibilities...
Evpjr has a good theory too. Maybe there is some kind of power or ground issue impacting fuel delivery, injectors or ignition spark that goes away when it gets warmed up.
