Newbie here.....grinding in rear end.

Hi,
I have a 97 TJ 4.0 sport. Lately it has been acting up. When first starting cold, everything is fine. Once I drive it for a while and warm it up, I hear a grinding noise from the rear while making turns. It seems to be coming from the left rear and seems worse when making right turns. It also kind of feels like the rear end shifts or moves when making turns during the grinding. Any ideas? Thanks, Brent

What rear axle do you have?

also begin by simply looking around down there. rear axle shifting around wouldn't happen unless your rear trackbar is broken or the bracket broke off. or the grinding could be something simple like mud/grime caked into your rear drums. or worse, something bad happening with the rear limited slip or gears. Look for the easy stuff first and work from there. hope that helps

The shifting could be a figment of my imagination.
