OBD II port not working 2005 rubicon

my jeep has started flashing the CEL so I took to the auto parts store and they said my OBD II is not working so they can read the codes. He said to check the fuses to see if one was bad going too it. I cant find any labeled for it. Any help is much appericated

Check the fuse for the Cigarette lighter. They work on the same circuit. I work on cars and we see this alot. Most blown fuses are related to cheap-o aftermarket chargers.

yea thats working, my friend hooked his mac mentor scanner to it and got into it, still no codes. what the heck

Got no code because the port was not reading or he could not read the port either?

If reader not can bus comparable will only work 2004 and earlier

Your TJ's engine computer has its own built in diagnostics that can display any stored Diagnostic Trouble Codes. Simply turn the ignition switch on-off-on three times within five seconds and then leave it in the On position. Any stored DTCs will then start displaying in the odometer after the diagnostics have completed. At the very least it will always at least display a 'Done' in the odometer if you did it correctly.

The above works in all model year TJs with the exceptions of 98-00.
