problem with exhaust rolling in from back

My 98 TJ w/4.0L w/4" lift 31" tires has had the exhaust replaced with aftermarket popular exhaust from cat back. no leaks. Problem is only when driving w/windows off doors and rear zipped out. At moderate/slow speeds the air pushes into the back of the vechicle (you can feel this with your hair being blown fowards-it is also carrying some exhaust smell with it. The tail pipe is welded on and points very slightly down-mostly out wards to the rear. Anyone else have this problem? Tip is 2-1/2" dia. Thinking about adding on a "turn down tip" to see if it will help. Suggestions?

I got a new system put on 2 months ago and put a straight out tip on it with a 3.5" diameter. It comes out right next to my hitch and is visible from behind the jeep and have no problems at all with that. I've never even really got the hint of an exhaust smell. I've been driving with the doors and top off for the past 2 weeks with no smell. I have no idea why you would be smelling this unless maybe a weld or something was bad underneath the tub and the fumes leaked up. I'm no expert on that sort of stuff but hey it's a guess.
