Exclamation Problems when shifting 2,4, and reverse

My rear drive shaft broke off about a week ago so I ended up getting my rear drive shaft and transfer case replaced from the Jeep dealer. Immediately after getting it back I noticed I keep popping out of 2nd and 4th gears. When I try to put it in reverse I have to use my body weight to keep it there or it grinds out. My question is if it was something the stealership did while installing a new transfer case? or any other thoughts on what could be the result?

I'm not too knowledgable about transmissions but it seems like something the dealership did. If it wasn't happening before then either the dealership put it in wrong in some way or when it broke it messed some stuff up itself. I would take it back and ask them to check it. If they messed it up or maybe need to drop the transfer case some or raise it they should do it for free. If not that then I don't know. Sorry I couldn't help more

Sounds like what happens when the shifter is contacting the rear part of the center console on shifts. I would pull the shift boot and bezel and see if it's getting close. Then immediately throw your fake rubber boot in the trash if you still have it and replace it with leather/pleather. Best thing I did.
