Purge Valve Routing?

I cannot for the life of me find the answer to this in any forum or my FSM - which hose goes where on the purge valve? Some dill weed installed mine upside down at some point and I want to make sure now that I've flipped it the right hoses go to the correct spots. On the valve there is a top and a bottom hose - any help? I think this might have been the source of some drivability issues. Thanks!!!!

Whether something is a success or failure is partially a matter of perspective. If you still have most of your fingers and/or toes, at least one eyebrow and are still above ground - well you'r not doing too bad!

The best thing would be to try to find an actual TJ to look at. I would say that they are the same through ’99 or ’00, maybe later.

With that said, try looking at the parts manual (’97-’99 & others in the link below) in the Emissions chapter. It appears they came with the 2 hoses joined as 1 part & would probably go on only 1 way. Assuming you have it right side up of course. The manual says they are marked & if mounted upside down they won’t work properly which you probably already know. See if you can match your hoses to the picture in the parts manual.
