Screech when shifting

Okay, I checked the other threads to see if this was posted and didnt find it. I have a 08' w/77k and its a 6 cyl w/ 5sp manual. Sometimes when I shift and letting out the clutch I (sometimes) hear a high piched screech sound. It is very brief and not consistent. In fact when I try to make the sound I cant and the only time it makes it is when letting out the clutch. Any thoughts?

No it doesnt, only when releasing the clutch and again only sometimes. More when its cold then warmed up.

Time for a clutch job. Never take your tranny out without replacing clutch, pressure plate and throw out bearing.

I'd say that clutch is still good....but to get to the TOB... you gotta pull the tranny anyway. That is the money in a clutch job. Besides if your TOB went out at 77K..odds are a previous owner rode the clutch a bunch..... Change it all I say

Before getting into your TOB, check your belt. I had a similar issue on an old truck. Everyone thought it was the TOB and it was a belt squeal. Eliminate something easy first.

Baby owl stuck between the output shaft and final gear is most common problem. Must've flown in while you had service done to the trans

LOL I just find it funny that mechanical problems always seem to make animal noises
