Shiny fan belt

The pulley wheel on my alternator seized and chewed up the belt so I replaced the alternator and the belt. I was under the hood today and I noticed that the new belt had a sort of shiny silver sheen on it. Is this an indication that the belt tensioner is too tight or too loose? The belt tension doesn't feel overly loose or tight. I can push it down about an inch and a half. Also, I rechecked the belt to make sure I got the right one Dayco 5060910/6pk2310. Any thoughts or suggestions?

i think the tension of the belt should be based on how much you can twist it, but being able to push it half an inch sounds ball park. silver sheen could be associated with the pulleys, but not sure.

Now that you mention it, one of the pulley wheels has the exact same silvery sheen on it.
