so many issues! please help

recently installed an SYE kit. right off the bat threw P0500 (speedo) i can not figure out what is wrong with it. reads completely zero at all speeds. No stalling when coming to a stop. But the tranny is acting up now.

The tranny (auto) is having issues with staying in gear. read it could be from the sensor malfunction.

Any advise?

Some auto shift points are influenced by speed sensor

If you got a super short SYE with no speedo gear you have to splice the 3 wire sensor in correctly there is a 5 volt power feed a ground and a signal

Once speed sensor is working shift points may improve but if speed and shift points still off you need something like the speed-healer to correct for your gears and tire size

I think the shift point issue only shows up on newer TJ auto with overdrive that I think came out in 2003 but I am a manual guy so slush box owners will have more details

Also the tone ring on some SYE have a pin that goes on output and fits a cutout on ID of tone ring that makes tone ring spin with output shaft

It would help to know which SYE you installed.

If you did the AA are you sure that you got the sensor back in the same orientation as when you pulled it out? The speedo gear is probably not making contact with the gear inside the t-case.
