Tow Bar

Has anyone used this setup? TJ Towing PAK. Moving across the country and don't want to drop $6-700 on a blue ox bar. I'm a bit weary of going full speed down the highway. Will be pulling the LJ with a Chevy Colorado.

To be legal you'll have to add a braking system, also.
Disconnect the rear driveshaft from the Diff and use a tow dolly from Uhaul, that would be cheaper, quicker & safer.

True, many states require a braking system, plus you chevy isn't designed to stop that much additional weight pushing on the back. I don't know what the tow rating of your Colorado is, but I suggest you check, before towing it at all. Even using a tow dolly, you would want one with brakes hooked up.

Can't beat that price. Ready brute makes a surge brake hook up if your looking for an easy brake set up.

I've been checking prices on trailers and think I'll just go that route. Won't have to buy a braking system and fiddle around with mounting a tow bar. It will definitely give me some peace of mind having trailer brakes. It's a larger investment but if I want to sell after my move it won't be hard to do. Thanks for inputs!

Why not rent a Uhaul trailer or get a quote from a shipper?
