Transfer case

Alright so when I bought this jeep 2 years ago I noticed when I would shift to use my 4wd the gears would grind and I'd have to yank the crap out of it. About 3 months ago the front output shaft blew so no more 4wd but more is happening, after the output shaft blew the jeep from a stop and a little bit more that usual gas wants to hop until I let of it; it also wants to rev up like I slipped into neutral in the transmission and you can hear more grinding. I'm hoping all these problems are from a bad transfer case because it never happened before. I am going to buy a transfer case out of a Manuel 4.0 and it's going into an auto 4.0 is there any more work I need to do before I can just swap it.

Are you saying you're driving around with a broken transfer case?

Park it now. And start repairs or tow it somewhere if you want someone else to do it.
