Transmission or transfer case

I went for a guys weekend and didn't do any off roading other than a couple dirt roads, well my point is there is oil everywhere underneath my 1999 jeep wrangler. The oil isn't red so if anyone could help it would be great

Manual, 5 speed, it's got 186,000 miles on it, when I got it there was a small leak in the rear diff but all the oil looks like it came from the top of the transfer case but it got I everywhere underneath. And thanks for letting me know I will try that

I just checked the TC oil level and it has plenty in there so I guess I can rule that out

You are pretty much describing what I experienced when the output shaft seal failed on my transfer case. Pretty easy fix, just remember to grease the shaft where the seal makes contact.

The transfer case should have ATF in it, so if it looks like oil, it's more likely transmission or engine.
